TRAHC's Annual Student Juried Exhibition

Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council will present the Annual Student Juried Exhibition starting May 19th at the Regional Arts Center in Downtown Texarkana. The Student Juried Exhibition has been a part of TRAHC's regional art shows for over 20 years and features art from middle and high school students. This year's show is sponsored by Stanhope's Art, Framing and Stationery.

 

Submissions to the Exhibition are judged and several prizes are awarded:

 

Best of Show......... $75 for High School, $40 for Middle School

1st Place......... $55 for High School, $35 for Middle School

2nd Place......... $35 for High School, $25 for Middle School

3rd Place......... $20 for High School, $15 for Middle School

Merit Award......... $15 for High School, $10 for Middle School

Honorable Mention (2)

People's Choice

All winners receive a ribbon as well.

 

This year's juror, Scotland Scout, has been a printmaker, painter and teacher for over 25 years and now is an Associate Professor in the visual arts department at Southern Arkansas University. He holds both a BFA and a MFA from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacodoches, TX and has done post-graduate work in Florence, Italy. His work has appeared in shows across the US and in England. His more recent projects are a woodcut series tiltled Burqua and a series of figurative abstract paintings called Studies in Yellow and Grey.

 

The Student Juried Exhibition will be on display from May 19th to June 6th at the Regional Arts Center, 321 West Fourth Street, Downtown Texarkana. The RAC is open from 10AM-4PM, Tuesday - Saturday. Admission is free and open to the public.
